The new Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, in charge of Zone 3 Command has said that the trust deficit between the Nigerian Police and the public must be broken, as a key strategy to bring about a robust intelligence gathering.

The new AIG said this at the Zone 3 Command Headquarters in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, where he has resumed duty.

Daniel Sokari Pedro is the new Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 3, for Adamawa and Taraba States. He said the Police must position itself in a manner where there is a public trust with the people for information that will aid the fight against crime.

The new AIG said security strategies would be updated as every police formation will be reactivated to tackle crimes.

He said that Adamawa and Taraba States will no longer be a safe haven for kidnappers and criminals.

Before his deployment as the new AIG Zone 3 Adamawa, Taraba Commands, Pedro was the Deputy Commandant, Nigeria Police Academy, Wudi Kano.
