The General Secretary of Non-Academic Staff Union of educational and associated institutions, NASU, Peters Adeyemi, says the abduction of staff and students of the College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Bakura, Zamfara State is another spoiler in efforts by security agents to secure educational facilities.

The NASU General Secretary, who is also the vice president of the Nigeria Labour Congress calls on the security agencies to expedite effort in the safe rescue of the kidnapped persons.

Adeyemi said that the Labour movement in Nigeria is not only concerned about the well being of workers, but every other Nigerian, the reason it joins Nigerians everywhere to demand the safe rescue of other kidnapped schoolchildren and condemns in its strongest terms the killing of over 20 Akure-bound travellers in Jos.

Armed men on Monday, August 16, stormed the College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Bakura, Zamfara state and abducted 15 students and 4 staff.

Meanwhile, the provost of the college, Habibu Mainasara told reporters on Tuesday at the school premises that the abductors are demanding N350 million as ransom.
