There is palpable tension in Ile-Ife and Modakeke towns on Friday over a purported communal clash between the two communities.
It was gathered that aggrieved youths from Modakeke stormed the palace of Ooni of Ife to protest the alleged killing of their persons at Toro; a suburb village in Ile-Ife.
The development, however, led to the crisis between the youths of Ile and Modakeke.
Six persons were reportedly killed in the crisis. Major streets in Ile was deserted for fear of reprisal attack
Findings also showed that the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, has shut its main gate as of the time of filing this report
Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, was said to be out of the town
Osun State Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, saying that a team of police operatives had been drafted to the towns
