At least nine persons including a pastor and his spouse have been reportedly kidnapped in two separate incidents in Kwara South Senatorial District of the state.
The two incidents occurred along the Omu-Aran/Oke-Onigbin highway and Ekiti-Ekanmeje axis
It was, however, gathered that six armed men waylaid a Sienna bus coming from Ekiti State, a neighboring state to Ilorin, the state capital, and abducted all the seven persons in the bus.
Confirming the two incidents, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the prompt intervention of a combined team of police, local hunters, and vigilantes led to the rescue of four abductees hinting that efforts are still in top gear to rescue the remaining victims including the pastor and his spouse.
Okasanmi also maintained that some suspects have been arrested and are helping the police in their investigation with an assurance that the situation is now under control as the patrols of all the routes in the state have been intensified.
