Cross River State government has commenced the process of privatizing government interests in Tinapa Resorts, the newly acquired state-owned airline “Callyair”, a garment factory as well as over 40 others with a call to all indigenes of the state to be part of the process through an online referendum.

Speaking while making the position of the government known to reporters in Calabar, Chairman of the State Privatization Council, John Odo, said the process became necessary due to the government’s determinations to make the assets survive.

Odo who was joined with other members and stakeholders of the privatization council assured that the exercise will be carried out according to the law.

The Council explained that the people of Cross River State will be keying into the initiative by referendum either online or offline through the 18 local government areas of the state.
