Two men were injured in a Washington, DC, shooting Thursday evening that sent commuters and diners at local restaurants sprinting from a bustling city block as shots rang out.

The shooting came five days after three people were injured outside Nationals Park in the city, which caused pandemonium inside the ballpark.

The gunplay on Thursday sent diners scrambling after shots rang out near 14th Street and Riggs Street in a busy section of the city near Logan Circle, according to WUSA 9.

One of the victims was shot in the arm and the other was hit in the chest, sources told the outlet.

Police said the shooting was part of a targeted attack and not a random incident, according to the local station.

A number of reporters in DC’s press corps were nearby when the shots rang out and some were forced to run to safety, according to accounts posted on social media.

“My husband and I were at Mexicue when this happened. We ran to safety. Thankful to be okay. What a terrifying night,” Yahoo Finance reporter Jessica Smith tweeted.

“Just hear what sounded like gun shots on 14th street in NW DC. People fleeing the popular Le Diplomate restaurant which seemed a few blocks away,” CNN anchor Jim Acosta posted.

News of the attack came after police found the car linked to the Saturday night that wounded three and sent fans and players scrambling. The suspects in that incident are still at large.
