More than 40 bandits have been killed during a military operation in the Erena axis, in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The bandits who were on motorcycles to invade the community met their waterloo in a gunfire exchange with the military.
A native of Erena commended the military for foiling the bandits’ operation on the community.
Bandits in the past had been launching attacks on the Erena people, killing and abducting for ransom.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached for comments.
