The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, MDCAN, has threatened to withdraw her services from all public institutions if the government fails to meet her demands for an appropriate, fair, and just compensation for the work of clinical lecturers.

This was the submission of MDCAN at an emergency meeting held Monday.

The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria is concerned that the Federal Government has refused to address the issue of income loss suffered by the consultants who are clinical lecturers in the universities among other demands.

The National President of the association, Ken Ozoilo, said the issues have made it difficult to attract the brightest and the best of consultants into the universities as lecturers.

He said if their demands are not met by the 16th of August 2021, they will be left with no choice but to embark on total strike action.
