Muslim faithful in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, have joined their counterpart across the globe to observe the Eid-el Kabir festival; the feast of sacrifice.

In a brief Sallah sermon, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Muhammed Bashir, and the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, urged Muslim Ummah to be submissive to the will of Almighty Allah and to continue to promote peace and unity of the nation.

Other dignitaries present at the Ilorin Eid praying ground are former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the National Chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Saliu Mustapha.

Some of the worshippers said the festival is worth celebrating as there was no such gathering last year as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown.

Shortly after the symbolic slaughtering of a ram on the prayer ground, the environment turned rowdy as the supporters of prominent politicians present started screaming the praises of their masters which prevented them from granting press interviews.

This is the first time the former Senate President, Saraki will be attending the Eid prayer session since he lost in the last general election in 2019.
