The International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP)-Africa has made former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan its Chairman. ISCP-Africa is made up of current and former African presidents and their deputies.
ISCP was founded in 2019 by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), an organization that shares general views with the United Nations (UN). Jonathan’s party, the People’s Democratic Party, has applauded his new position (PDP).
In a statement released on Tuesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan expressed his gratitude to the Institution. He also noted that the award was bestowed upon Goodluck Jonathan because of his democratic leadership characteristics and his tremendous success in international peacekeeping missions, according to Mr. Ologbondiyan.
Former President Jonathan will use his knowledge, as well as the democratic values and convictions of his great party, to guide Africa’s needs for peace, stability, and development in his new mission.
Former President Jonathan’s political party also congratulated him on his appointment as Chancellor of Uganda’s Cavendish University (CUU).
“The PDP is elated that former President Jonathan is so honored to hold the position previously held by late President Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia as well as late President Benjamin Mkapa of the Republic of Tanzania, because of his commitment to education and human capital development, in line with the ideals of the PDP,” he said.
