The trial of a member of the House of Representatives representing Apa/Agatu consistency in Benue State, Samuel Godday, has been fixed for October 13, 2021, for hearing before a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja.

The date was fixed after Godday was arraigned by the police for giving false information during the 2019 elections.

The lawmaker was alleged to have supplied false information about his educational qualification years to complete the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC form CF001 for the Apa/Agatu constituency election held in 2019 under the flagship of the Labour Party, an offence contrary to section Section 140 and 144 of the Penal Code.

After Godday pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge levelled against him, Justice Hussein Baba granted him bail in the sum of two million Naira and a surety in like sum who has a credible character.
