Suspected bandits have again attacked Ma-gata and Mangauri villages in Atyab Chiefdom, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attacks came in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Public Relations Officer of the Atyap Community Development Association, ACDA, Marcos Pius, said that at Ma-gata, two persons were killed during the attack and 8 houses burned, while in Mangauri, 19 houses were burned and many sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

This is coming after different armed groups attacked six communities on Tuesday, in the same chiefdom, leaving 33 persons killed.

According to the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, a Tuesday Press Release said four churches and 215 houses were burned.

Wednesday’s attack brings to a total of five churches and 234 houses burnt.

The leader of the SOKAPU Youth Wing, Comrade Isaac John, in a press statement signed by him on Wednesday, called on the people of Southern Kaduna to be united and come out en mass to defend themselves and their communities against incessant killings and kidnappings in the area.
