Hundreds of students of the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, led by their Union leaders have cried out to the state government and the security agencies to provide a safe and conducive environment for their learning, especially in the hostels.

The students made this known, following the killing of a graduated student who came for his clearance in preparation for his National Youth Service Corps.

They said the CRUTECH environment has become hostile for students following incessant harassment, stealing, and raping by hoodlums in their hostels, hinting that urgent action must be taken by the management, government, and security agencies.

Meanwhile, Cross River State Police Commissioner, Sikiru Akande, confirmed that some of the cultists who terrorised the institution have been arrested and will be charged to court after thorough investigations.
