Bandits who abducted students of Salihu Tanko Islamic School, Tegina, in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State have jacked up the ransom from one hundred and ten million Naira to two hundred million Naira.

The Headmaster of the School, Garba Alhassan, disclosed this in an interview with reporters, saying that they jacked up the ransom to 200 million Naira, following the failure of the parents to meet up the deadline to pay one hundred and ten million Naira on Wednesday.

Alhassan noted that the bandits had initially demanded that the parents of the abducted students pay a ransom of 300 million Naira, before reducing it to 110 million Naira.

The Headmaster observed that the age range of the abducted students is between four and 10 years

He said already, the students are being exposed to the harsh condition.

Sources said that the parents of the abducted students have organized fundraising within the community, targeting the required amount.
