Former President Donald Trump on Monday voiced his approval of the cold reception Mitt Romney received from fellow Republicans in his home state over the weekend.

A crowd of over 2,000 GOP delegates booed Ronmey on Saturday as the Utah senator addressed his party’s 2021 state convention.

“So nice to see RINO Mitt Romney booed off the stage at the Utah Republican State Convention,” Trump said in a statement.

“They are among the earliest to have figured this guy out, a stone cold loser!” said Trump.

Delegates at the Maverik Center in West Valley City tried to shout Romney down, calling him a “traitor” and “communist.”

But the 74-year-old lawmaker stood his ground.

“You can boo all you like,” the former governor of Massachusetts said. “I’ve been a Republican all of my life. My dad was the governor of Michigan and I was the Republican nominee for president in 2012.”
