A former presidential candidate in the 2019 general election, Asuquo Archibong, has condoled with Nigerians as he described the death of the Chief of Army Staff,  COAS, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, in a tragic air accident involving the Nigerian Air Force plane in Kaduna State, as unfortunate.

Achibong said, “I join the rest of the country in mourning this tragic loss, especially at a time when the nation is faced with unprecedented security threats on multiple fronts across the country.

“I also condole with the armed forces and the government of the federation and ask that everything should be done to ensure a thorough investigation to unravel the cause of these accidents.

“The reliability, integrity, and safety of our military and aviation assets are of paramount importance, considering its critical role in the battle against insecurity, therefore every step should be taken to ensure that these frequent air crashes and the attendant loss of lives be brought to an immediate end. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.”
