Pope Francis called for “unity in diversity” in Myanmar without specifically mentioning the Rohingya crisis, in a speech made alongside the country’s civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi Tuesday.
“The arduous process of peace-building and national reconciliation can only advance through a commitment to justice and respect for human rights,” the visiting Pope Francis said, adding that religion can play an important role in solving the crisis.
