Music fans appear to be heavily divided over Ed Sheeran’s Glastonbury performance, debating whether or not he should have been supported by a live band.
He’s renowned as ‘one man and his guitar’, however that didn’t seem to be up to scratch for some festival-goers with others complaining that he played along to a backing track.
The 26-year-old was tasked with the job of closing the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night at the British festival and despite the criticism, many people said he nailed the performance.
His set was exactly what you would expect of the global superstar, loop pedal at his foot, he belted out his biggest hits including Lego House, Shape of You, The A-Team along with many others.
He finished up with fan favourite You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.
Some fans were massively impressed by the gig.
Ed sheeran headlining Glastonbury with just his guitar and killing it with what he's come from is encouraging for the music industry.— Brian Mcfadden (@BrianMcFadden) June 25, 2017
Ed Sheeran is an incredible musician, don't understand how anyone can think he doesn't deserve to headline Glastonbury— Amy (@amyblyth13) June 25, 2017
