A member of the Japanese metal band Babymetal has admitted to being “afraid” of the genre before joining the group.
The Japanese pop-metal sensations released their second album ‘Metal Resistance’ earlier this year ahead of a theatrical headline show at London’s Wembley Arena.
Yuimetal, who was previously a member of teen pop group Sakura Gakuin, has spoken to Kerrang! about her prior relationship with metal music, revealing that she was “afraid of metal music and what metal bands looked like”.
However, the singer went on to say that after meeting metal musicians and fans, she found that they were kind people and that this dampened her fears.
Babymetal recently announced their own animated web series, playing themselves in the online series which promises to be a blend of animation and live-action.
